Mikey was born a fighter, born too early but overcoming so many obstacles. Mikey had bowel surgery at 4 weeks old, spending his first christmas in intensive care in Leicester Royal Infirmary, before being transferred back to Birmingham. He overcame heart surgery and battled with Chronic Lung Disorder as a result of being born 12 weeks premature. Sadly,his liver had suffered damage and on 22nd December 2009 he received a new liver from a little boy known only as Oscar, who we will always be eternally grateful to. Mikey spent his 2nd Christmas in Intensive care in the Birmingham Childrens Hospital, where he recieved the best care imaginable. Mikey was finally allowed home aged 19 months, where he continued to thrive and grow.
